Jewel of the Bay

Jewel of the bay 1

Halong Bay in north Vietnam is home to the largest collection of karst limestone islets in the world. The name Ha Long translates as 'descending dragon' - referring to an ancient legend explaining how the bay came to be formed. It is believed that a dragon descended from the heavens and, as it came crashing down to earth, its tail thrashed the ground and cut the bay from the rocks.

Until recently Halong Bay was a haven for pirates and tourists were discouraged from spending the night out in the Bay.

Now there are several boats plying the waters between Halong City (Hong Gai & Bay Chai) and Cat Ba Island, offering a range of options depending on your time and your budget.

The Jewel of the Bay & Jewel of the Bay II are for those looking for a little bit of indulgence. With a capacity of 10 on JoB and 16 on JoB II, both boats provide a high level of service and comfort in a relaxed, uncrowded environment.

Guests can choose to stay on either boat for 1 or 2 nights or longer upon request.
